Dr. Jawed Alam Khan
Executive Director
Jawed Alam Khan is a trained economist and has completed his PhD degree in Economics from JNU, New Delhi. Currently, he is the Executive Director at Institute of Policy Studies and Advocacy, New Delhi. He is also associated with IMPRI as senior visiting fellow and worked with Institute of Social Sciences, Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability and Hamdard University.
His work focuses on development economics, public policy and finance, fiscal decentralisation, issues in fund utilization in social sector programmes, implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and responsiveness of budgets to disadvantaged groups like gender, children, bonded labour, minorities, Dalits and Adivasis. He has more than 20 years of experience in research, teaching and training and authored 25 research reports and papers in his areas of interest.
He has taken several training sessions in the premier training institutes like LBSNAA, IIPA, ASCI and NIPCCID and conducted several training workshops for the students of ST college Ernakulam and TISS, Tuljapur and Hyderabad as national, international NGOs, UN agencies and PRIs. Jawed has also been associated with UNESCAP consultations regarding Financing for implementation of SDGs and Social and Economic Survey.
He has been a part of the United Nation’s process of consultations related to financing for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the post 2015 agenda. He travelled to Japan, China, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, South Korea, and South Africa for meeting and conferences.
